Joint statement from NHS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group, Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust:
With Storm Eunice likely to cause significant disruption, flooding and dangerous conditions in the county today, we are focusing on delivering essential services.
If you have a need which is non-urgent, please consider your personal safety and only travel if you feel safe to do so.
If there are any changes to planned appointments today, you will have already been notified by local health services.
Our priority is to minimise non-essential travel for the safety of our patients and staff.
We are working together as a system to ensure continued availability of urgent and emergency services.
The NHS in Gloucestershire is therefore urging people to think twice before heading to the Emergency Department (A&E) or calling 999 if it is not a life threatening emergency.
People are also advised not to travel to Community Minor Injury and Illness Units unless its urgent. The MIIU triage line (0300 421 7777) can offer advice.
If you are unwell and not sure where to turn, the local ASAP Glos NHS App and website and 111.nhs.uk provides information about lots of health conditions, looking after yourself and where to find the right help.
