Earlier this year we launched our One Gloucestershire People’s Panel, which proactively seeks out the opinions of a representative sample of people living and/or accessing services across Gloucestershire.

In recent months, we’ve put out our first survey, reported on the results, and our second survey is in progress. Find out more about the panel and our progress so far. READ

We know we can rely upon very active ‘self-selecting’ people who are prepared, willing and able to take up the many opportunities we currently offer to have their say. What we identified is that we can do more to ensure that we hear the voices of individuals who do not, or cannot, easily tell us what matters to them.

So we asked people how they wanted to be involved, and one of the top three things people said was through completing surveys. The One Gloucestershire People’s Panel was born in response.

We recruited a group of just over 1,000 residents to join the new Panel. The people recruited are representative of the Gloucestershire population of approximately 650,000, including individuals who live in priority areas of the county and where people experience greater health inequalities than elsewhere in Gloucestershire or England.

The Panellists’ anonymous feedback is used at a county and a more local level to shape health and care services and support.

The first survey focused on digital and information sharing, including Virtual Wards and NHS 111. The report is available on the Get Involved in Gloucestershire website.

The next survey is about non-medical support for health and wellbeing and will remain open until the end of August.
