We are delighted that the health and care system in Gloucestershire has recently been shortlisted for three HSJ Awards, recognising outstanding contributions to healthcare.
Our One Gloucestershire ICS Respiratory Programme was shortlisted in the Integrated Care Initiative of the Year category, recognising more than a decade of working to share expertise across the health and care family. Community choirs, asthma training in schools and working with local sports clubs are among the innovative approaches to support people living with respiratory conditions in Gloucestershire.
A project to provide the best possible support to Gloucestershire’s Armed Forces Veterans has been shortlisted in the Military and Civilian Health Partnership category. NHS Gloucestershire has been working with GP practices to sign up to the Royal College of GP’s accredited Veteran Friendly Practice scheme, increasing their understanding of the health needs of veterans, and the services available to them.
At Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the MSK Therapy Outpatient Service have also been shortlisted for Performance Recovery in recognition of the superb work to improve access for patients following the COVID-19 pandemic.
More than 1,350 entries were submitted for this year’s Awards, with 234 projects and individuals reaching the final shortlist. The high volume and exceptional quality of applications showcases the impressive levels of innovation and care continually being developed across the country, so we’re incredibly proud of our hardworking teams for making it through to the awards ceremony in November.
