The NHS in Gloucestershire is urging people who are eligible for a flu vaccine to take up the offer without delay.

Marie Crofts, Director of Nursing at NHS Gloucestershire, said:

“Thanks to the fantastic work of GP, pharmacy and community teams, the majority of flu vaccination activity for this season has been completed.

However, we have started to see a significant rise in flu cases in recent weeks and we would strongly urge anyone who is eligible, and who has not yet had their vaccine, to come forward before it’s too late. It offers the best possible protection against serious illness this winter.

Anyone who still needs a flu vaccination should speak to their GP practice, or book an appointment at a community pharmacy using the national booking system (NBS) or NHS app. The booking system closes on 19 December, but many pharmacies will be continuing to offer flu vaccines until 31 January 2025. A list of walk-in clinics are available here and will be updated regularly.”

A list of those eligible for flu and COVID vaccines is available on the seasonal vaccination page here.
